To meet the ever growing needs of our community, we all need to prayerfully consider how we can help. To date we have received $102,926 towards our Parish goal of $103,315. Your support to the Appeal will help to serve or deliver more than 500,000 meals to the disadvantaged, provide affordable safe housing to the most vulnerable senior citizens in our community, educate our young people in our faith, help others to follow the call to serve in the priesthood and support the needs of our very own parish. As Pastor, I ask that you prayerfully consider making a gift to help those in need. It is with their needs in mind that I am asking you to consider supporting the 2010 Catholic Ministries Appeal. The Appeal truly supports our parish and the entire Church of Long Island.

You can make a difference in our parish and in the lives of those around us by making a gift to this year’s appeal. Only you can decide what the gift will be.

Please print and fill out this form.

Your donation or pledge may be returned to the rectory office or mailed directly to the Catholic Ministries Appeal at the Diocese of Rockville Centre, Catholic Ministries Appeal, PO Box 4000, Rockville Centre, NY 11571-4000.

Pray for Our Armed Forces
If you have a family member who is currently serving on active duty in the military, call the rectory to have their name added to our prayer list. Please keep in your prayers all women and men who currently serve in our military all over the world.

Many Thanks!
On behalf of Momma’s House, Birth Right, Regina Residence, and Life Center of Long Island, the Outreach Office thanks you for the wonderful response made to our annual Mother’s Day Baby Shower. These agencies were so blessed by your kindness and generosity through your donations of gift cards and many beautiful and much needed baby items. So many “oohs and aahs” were expressed by my volunteers as they lovingly and carefully wrapped up your donations. As usual, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you once again for reaching out to those around us who most need a helping hand. May God bless you all.
- Susan Brucia

Pantry Sunday - July 31st & August 1st
As you know donations tend to drop during the summer months so we appreciate your continued support and generosity at this time. Please leave your donations on the church lobby benches. We are happy to accept them at the rectory during the week. [Our culture says that] children with severe disabilities are not special angels sent to us by
God, but drains on the economy; better that they were not born. And the elderly are burdens. But if we succeed in pushing away everyone who is dependent, then we’re left with ourselves, our ego-centric, sin-rationalizing, defensive, irritable and vain selves. If we never learn to give till it hurts, till the painful reality that we’re not the center of the universe sinks in, we will fail at marriage, at parenthood, at citizenship, even at simple neighborliness.
–William E. Joseph Coschignano as our new pastor. In the few days that Fr. Joe has been with us we have come to know him as a spiritual and compassionate man. This past weekend Fr. Joe introduced himself to the parishioners at each mass and many were put at ease by his smile and the warm sensitive words spoken from his heart. From a personal perspective, we can see that Fr. Joe is a priest’s priest and will be both mentor and friend. On behalf of the Pastoral Staff and our wonderful, faith filled parish family, we welcome our new pastor Fr.
