New Altar Servers Training
This important and helpful ministry is for boys and girls in the fourth grade and up who demonstrate a willingness to serve. The parish will conduct training in September for four consecutive Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM starting Thursday, September 9th. Please complete this form and return it to the rectory, attention Fr. Valentine by July 31st. If you have any questions please call the rectory at 785-0054.

Catholic Ministries Appeal
You can make a difference!
While all of us have reason to be proud of the help that is being provided through the Catholic Ministries Appeal and our Parish, we also know that more and more people are seeking assistance from us. To meet the ever growing needs of our community, we all need to prayerfully consider how we can help. To date we have received $102,926 towards our Parish goal of $103,315. Your support to the Appeal will help to serve or deliver more than 500,000 meals to the disadvantaged, provide affordable safe housing to the most vulnerable senior citizens in our community, educate our young people in our faith, help others to follow the call to serve in the priesthood and support the needs of our very own parish. Pantry Sunday - July 31st & August 1st
As you know donations tend to drop during the summer months so we appreciate your continued support and generosity at this time. This month we are most in need of deodorant, toothpaste, soap, paper towels, napkins, etc. As well as regular staples such as cereal and macaroni and cheese. Please leave your donations on the church lobby benches. We are happy to accept them at the rectory during the week. Thank you very much for keeping our food pantry stocked.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Regional School
One of the unique offerings of our school is a parent and child program called Our Time! This program offers a variety of age appropriate activities for two or three year olds, such as arts and crafts, live music, story time, play time and prayer. The classes are conducted in a well structured classroom setting and are taught by Sabina Lamb, Director of Family Music at the 10:15 AM family mass. Our Time classes are offered on Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM starting in September. For more information or registration call Mrs. Lamb at 781-9834. Space is limited.

RCIA News
RCIA is the process for those who seek full participation in the Catholic Church. Those who were never baptized, baptized Catholic or in another Christian faith who wish to receive communion and confirmation as Catholics should contact the rectory office and leave a message for Terry Hubert. The RCIA program begins in September and our candidates and catechumens receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass.

Volunteer Teachers Needed
This fall we will be welcoming back to religion classes nearly 2,000 parish children. They will come to class weekly until the spring. Teaching the faith to so many children requires many, many volunteers (approximately 200) to meet the needs of our program. We are still in need of catechists for the following sessions and grade levels:

It’s Time to Register for Religion
Registration is being accepted for the St. Barnabas Christian Formation Program for September. If you have a child who will be attending grade one in public school and you have not received material in the mail, call 785-0130 to place your child in our religious education program for September. Grade one students and all students new to our program will need a copy of their baptismal certificate and know their parishioner number to register.

Jones Beach Concert
Fr. Charles Mangano and his sister Laurie will be performing along with Peter Stanganelli and his band Rapture at the Jones Beach band shell on Monday, July 19th at 7:00 PM. This is a free concert.

Volunteer Teachers Needed
This fall we will be welcoming back to religion classes nearly 2,000 parish children. They will come to class weekly until the spring. Teaching the faith to so many children is wonderfully affirming, yet at times an overwhelming challenge for this community for it requires many, many volunteers (approximately 200) to meet the needs of our program. We are still in need of catechists for the following sessions and grade levels:

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Regional School
One of the unique offerings of our school is a parent and child program called Our Time! This program offers a variety of age appropriate activities for two or three year olds, such as arts and crafts, live music, story time, play time and prayer. The classes are conducted in a well structured classroom setting and are taught by Sabina Lamb, Director of Family Music at the 10:15 AM family mass. Our Time classes are offered on Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM starting in September. For more information or registration call Mrs. Lamb at 781-9834. Space is limited.

Welcome Fr. Joe
This past weekend marked a new beginning for the people and staff of St. Barnabas as we welcomed Fr. Joseph Coschignano as our new pastor. In the few days that Fr. Joe has been with us we have come to know him as a spiritual and compassionate man. This past weekend Fr. Joe introduced himself to the parishioners at each mass and many were put at ease by his smile and the warm sensitive words spoken from his heart. From a personal perspective, we can see that Fr. Joe is a priest’s priest and will be both mentor and friend. On behalf of the Pastoral Staff and our wonderful, faith filled parish family, we welcome our new pastor Fr. Joe to our parish and into our hearts. We assure Fr. Joe of our unconditional support, love and prayers.

It’s Time to Register for Religion
Registration is being accepted for the St. Barnabas Christian Formation Program for September. If you have a child who will be attending grade one in public school and you have not received material in the mail, call 785-0130 to place your child in our religious education program for September. Grade one students and all students new to our program will need a copy of their baptismal certificate and know their parishioner number to register.

Food Pantry Weekend - July 3rd & 4th
Now that the kids are home from school we are in need of cereal, summer snacks and peanut butter and jelly. Personal care items such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, suntan lotion and deodorants are also in demand. Our clients can always use paper goods and cleaning products along with the regular staples of canned or jarred fruits and vegetables and condiments. Please leave your donations on the lobby benches in church next weekend or at the rectory during the week. Your generous support of our pantry is always appreciated. Have a safe and blessed summer.

Second Collection Today
The second collection today will be the Peter’s Pence Collection. This collection provides the Holy Father with the assistance he needs to carry out his most important charitable works. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression and disasters. Through your generosity, with Pope Benedict we can cast the love of Christ upon the world.
