                          Message from our Pastor.

                          Picture
                          Dear Friend in Christ,

It is a great pleasure for me, as the pastor of our parish, to welcome you to the website of the parish community of St. Barnabas the Apostle. Whatever your reason for joining us
online, I am delighted that you have chosen this opportunity to share in the life of this parish as portrayed in words and pictures.

Ours is a vibrant and spirited Catholic community, thousands of parishioners strong, all of us struggling to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the concreteness of our day to day situation. Discipleship can be a daunting challenge – especially if it is lived seriously and with conviction – but God has given us the invaluable gift of one another so that we can find support and encouragement as we make our pilgrim way toward God’s Kingdom. None of us is meant to walk the Christian path alone; we are members of one body, as St. Paul would say, and we travel in very good company!

My hope is that you will choose to spend more time with us. This website is intended to provide you with a glimpse of all that is happening here, from liturgical and sacramental celebrations that are at the heart of Catholicism; to the many educational programs that shape the faith of our children and adults alike; to the numerous opportunities for service that allow us to love one another as Christ commanded. As with so many important things in life, you will hopefully find yourself enriched by St. Barnabas parish. I pray that in the months and years ahead, this community may be for you, a faithful friend, a sturdy shelter and a treasure beyond price.

May God Bless you, and enjoy your visit with us!

                          Rev. Joseph C. Coschignano
                          Pastor

                          Protecting God's People
Together we protect the children of God and all God's People.  We are the eyes and ears of the outreach  of the Church to care for and protect all God's people.  As the signs in the subway read "If you see something, say something" could well be the motto for our program to care for our children.  Fr your information, the Diocesan Abuse hot line is 594-9063.  For information on the USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People you can contact Mrs. Eileen Puglisi at the diocesan office 678-5800 ext. 573 or our pastor. http://www.virtus.org/virtus/
